National Cycle Network Route 6

The National Cycle Network is Sustrans' primary initiative set up in 1995, providing up to 12,600 miles of walking and cycle routes across the country. Route 6 links London with the Lake District.

Ebury Way

The Ebury Way is a 3.5mile rail trail running between Rickmansworth and Watford. The route crosses three rivers; The River Colne, River Chess and River Gade as well as the Grand Union Canal.
The path is shared with walkers and cyclists. Its origin as the Watford and Rickmansworth Railway endowes it with generous width and gentle gradient. It forms part of National Cycle Network Route 61 which runs between Windsor to the south-west and Ware to the north-east. The Watford section of the Ebury Way up to its crossing of the River Colne also forms part of Route 6 and this section is labelled jointly Route 6/61
