SK9059 : Wath Cottage, Bassingham

taken 4 years ago, near to Bassingham, Lincolnshire, England

Wath Cottage, Bassingham
Wath Cottage, Bassingham
Addressed as 7, Hall Wath. This cottage is probably over 200 years old, with the left gable as the original structure (the primary frontage is on the left side of the building). Obviously abandoned for many decades, demolition was proposed in 2005, with several later proposals for a new-build house. Needless to say, this has not taken place yet. Interestingly, there is another cottage of almost identical proportions, just North of Bassingham SK9160 : Cottage on Thurlby Road, Bassingham.

My grandparents lived on the opposite side of the road, resulting in a personal fascination of this house, as a young child. 15 years later, it has not changed much except for the static caravan and the rigged-up television aerial.
