In the UK, a speciality of the North Downs (as here), with few sites elsewhere. Typical habitat is in open grassland on chalk, often in old chalk pits, although this one is unusual in that it is growing in shade. This one is also unusually tall, at around 45cm, perhaps explained by its position. The individual flowers (see
