Debdale Park, Manchester
To any resident of east London, this car is immediately recognisable as a Docklands Light Railway vehicle. But wait....what's that pantograph doing on the roof?
The car had been brought to Manchester and fitted with a pantograph so that officials from Manchester could see a modern light rail vehicle in the context of their own city. They liked it, so Manchester got its own trams in 1992.
