The names are remote even by Shropshire standards. How many Shropshire lads could put Skyborry or Treverward on a map? Or Anchor?

One of the glories of this county is its more remote hamlets, settlements and wonderful names. Skyborry. Apparently the etymology of this place name stems from the Welsh word for barn, namely ysgubor. Pronounced 'skybor'.

Made me smile.
