Muchall Park in Penn, Wolverhampton
Muchall Park in Penn, Wolverhampton
This entrance into Muchall Park from the A449 Penn Road appears unkempt, but there is an explanation.
Selected substantial areas of the grassland have been designated as "nature friendly zones" and are only mowed once a year, in October. Other areas have the grass cut in the standard way. Either way I get the hay-fever!
Muchall Park contains many attractive mature trees. Centrally here is a horse chestnut tree, and to its right is an ash tree, both white flowering. (A red flowering horse chestnut can be seen further into the park).
