The unfinished tenth pitch of the C incline at Dinorwig Quarry
The unfinished tenth pitch of the C incline at Dinorwig Quarry
This pitch in the upper part of the Braich district consists of a massive embankment which was never completed. The incline was intended to take 'good' rock down to Ponc Virginia and from thence along the existing tank inclines to the shed at Australia for processing. Instead, 'good' rock continued to go westwards through Ponc Llangristiolus and then down to the shed at Twllmwg SH5961 : The ruins of Sied Twll y Mwg Shed with the 'bad' rock going eastwards to the Jubilee waste tip.
