Queen Square, Blackpool
Queen Square, Blackpool
Looking down from the top of Blackpool Tower, this is Queen Square with its war memorial. The memorial was designed by Ernest Prestwich and unveiled in 1923. To the right of that, the Metropole Hotel bears the name Butlins; Billy Butlin purchased the hotel in 1955 and his company sold it on in 1998. To the left is the entrance to the North Pier and there are three vintage Blackpool trams in the picture.
