Llangunllo Station
Llangunllo Station
By 1973 the passing loop at Llangunllo had gone and the station was about as basic as it could be - the waiting shelter being reminiscent of a garden shed. It was said that the line had only survived the 1960s because it passed through several marginal constituencies and British Rail certainly had no intention of providing passengers with much in the way of facilities. Nevertheless Llangunllo station still survives and by 2011 a rather more stylish shelter had been built, lights installed and the lineside vegetation had grown up considerably: SO2073 : Crowd waiting for the 12:02
