Electrical box, Haie Hill approach cutting
This is the sort of thing which only really interests old railway enthusiasts; my wife, who was with me, remained largely indifferent to this. It's some sort of electrical cabinet, forgotten when the railway was dismantled in 1969, two years after closure. Directly beneath it at the foot of the stone wall which lines the cutting at this point, is the remaining stub of Soudley No.1 distant signal: see SO6709 : Railway remnants.
