The Tony Carter Cycle Bridge over the railway just north of Cambridge station was opened in 1989. At the time it was the longest covered cycle bridge in the world. It was later found necessary to take measures to prevent attempts to climb on the roof: TL4657 : Western end of the Carter Bridge
