Reclaimed land, now used to graze cattle, on what was in the 1930s a tile works and then subsequently the site of a fuel depot and warehouses, served by Buckland Siding, a siding off the Redhill - Guildford railway. The site was cleared in the c1980s.
In the trees on the right can be seen a small part of what is marked on the 1964-70 1:2500 map as a theatrical scenery store; current maps mark it as a "ruin". The entrance to this off Clifton's Lane (off to the right) is heavily gated, and whilst there is a gate from this field (see
TQ2351 : Former Theatrical Scenery Store), this has no public access, this photo having been taken from a patch of woodland of Clifton's Lane marked on maps as Ben's Plantation.
