Shield Ash
See NY8241 : Whitestone House. This 17th C longhouse is Grade II listed LinkExternal link ; the text of the listing says that there is a date stone above the door inscribed with "1661 for TP". Christine Ruskin gives records of occupation from 1648, although with a gap from 1887 to 1941. The farmhouse was occupied until the 1950s when the workings at Newlandside Quarry left it perilously close to the edge of the excavations - see NY9837 : Newlandside Quarry (disused) (2).
