Handley Cross bridge at Hamsterley
Handley Cross bridge at Hamsterley
This was erected to carry the driveway to Hamsterley Hall over a small ravine in 1843. The owner of the Hall was the Victorian writer Robert Smith Surtees and Handley Cross was the most popular of his books. A view taken in early spring, when there is a bit better view through the trees from the public path.
