The beck's natural course has already been altered, and shortly beyond this bridge it goes into a culvert under the industrial areas of South Leeds from which it only emerges (as the Hol Beck) alongside Water Lane some 3km downstream.

According to its website, CityWest comprises 93,000 sq ft of office space in several buildings 1.5 miles from Leeds City Centre and 800m from Junction 1 of the M621 motorway. Built c.2007 [to be confirmed], there are three large office blocks, a couple of smaller ones, and two hotels situated either side of the Wortley Beck.
