Along Crook Beck
Downstream from the waterfall and the point where the bridleway crosses, the beck is in a tight, steep sided valley cut through soft dark shales, although the rather crooked exposure of what looks like limestone to the left is interesting. is the angle of the exposure correct, or is it a result of it sliding over the shales down the hillside? This would be an interesting gill to wander down in wellies.
