Sad to report the recent death of Mr Bill Best, the man with a train set in his garden. He had been ill for some time (although remaining fairly active) and had celebrated his 90th birthday in early April. His death was not related to Covid-19.

Co-founded with his brothers the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway was a manifestation of their (and a lot of like-minded chaps) passion for steam locomotives.
Bill was a good friend to me and my family and I face-painted at the Warren on railway open days for many years.
