A recently completed building on the Newcastle Helix site, the Frederick Douglass Centre will be occupied by Newcastle University and contains teaching accommodation. The building is named in honour of anti-slavery campaigner Frederick Douglass who lived nearby in the city in 1846, Link (Archive Link )
