SO2719 : Changing countryside

taken 11 years ago, near to Forest Coal Pit, Monmouthshire/Sir Fynwy, Great Britain

Changing countryside
Changing countryside
Changes never stop!
1) In the foreground is a young tree which formerly would not have had a chance to grow because of so many sheep browsing here.
2) Down in the valley are modern sheds which farmers need nowadays rather than the old stone barns which are mostly made into houses now.
3) In the middle of the picture a new house is being built next to a ruined house.
4) This is all land in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Will sheep numbers decline in future so that nature can take over more of this beautiful scenery?
