Porthkerry Viaduct
Porthkerry Viaduct
Designed and engineered by William and James Szlumper and built by the Pethick Brothers to carry the Vale of Glamorgan railway in the nineteenth century. Although originally opened in 1897 it had to close due to settlement of some of the piers and did not open fully till 1900. It has 16 arches at a maximum height of 33 metres. It was listed by Cadw as Grade II in 1963 and now lies at the northern end of Porthkerry Country Park.
