This Cumberland County Council signpost points to Moscow, Butterburn and Churnsike, which are merely isolated farmsteads on this long dead end road leading into the western part of Wark Forest. Intriguingly either route can be taken at this road junction as both roads soon re-join; the narrower, steeper unsigned route also leads to Moscow, Butterburn and Churnsike and is 200 yards shorter.
It is unusual to have a signpost of this type with only a single arm, but if a normal three arm signpost had been provided here two of the arms would have been identical.
