The cars are those of rail enthusiasts (including myself) who had been waiting for a steam train to pass SD7992 : Charter train crossing Dandrymire Viaduct. Its vapour can be seen here behind the small hamlet of Garsdale Head.
Settle to Carlisle railway line

The Settle to Carlisle Line is a 73 mile long main railway line in northern England. It was constructed in the 1870s. It is generally recognised as one of the most attractive railway lines in the country as it crosses the Yorkshire Dales.
