Rampside Lighthouse
Rampside Lighthouse
Number 4 Rampside Leading Light, also known as "The Needle" or “Rampside Lighthouse”, is a navigation beacon which was built in 1875. Similar leading lights were built on Foulney Island and off Carr Lane, Walney Island. The alignment of the lights assisted vessels to gauge the approach to Barrow-in-Furness. Rampside is the only surviving example of 13 such beacons built around Barrow during the late 19th century. The beacon is constructed from red and yellow bricks and stands 20 metres (66 ft) tall.

Rampside Lighthouse is a Grade II listed building (LinkExternal link Historic England List Entry Number 1197853).
