The gates of Berwick Barracks
The gates of Berwick Barracks
These Barracks were built in 1717-1721 after the Jacobite Rising of 1715. They were designed for a full regiment of infantry whose main purpose was to stop any future uprisings in the North. In 1881 these Barracks became the permanent home depot of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers until 1963. In here you will find a Museum and exhibition of the KOSB.
