The front of the building was remodelled c.1800 by Edward Armitage. The portico has been glazed in by the city council who now use the building as offices, since 2005 (by comparison with SE2432 : Farnley Hall ). It is listed grade II. See also SE2432 : Farnley Hall.
Farnley Hall and park, Leeds

The hall was originally the country house of Sir Thomas Danby, first Mayor of Leeds, built 1586. It was altered in the 19th and 20th centuries by the Armitage family, and is listed grade II (list entry 1256104). Since 1945 it has been owned by Leeds City Council, and used as offices. The grounds covering 16 hectares of grassland and woodland are what is left of a Norman deer park, now a public park including sports pitches and children's playground.
