TR3052 : Thatched animals on the roof of Venson Farm

taken 4 years ago, near to Tilmanstone, Kent, England

Thatched animals on the roof of Venson Farm
Thatched animals on the roof of Venson Farm
It is a custom when thatching to sometimes add an animal or bird on the apex of the roof, possibly as a trademark, but I have never seen one in Kent before. This wonderful example is near Tilmanstone and features a cat chasing two hares. See also Link

These ones have been added recently as there was no sign of them in 2014 - see Link or even 2018 -see Link

Two other examples further north in Cambridgeshire can be seen at Link
and at Link
