Wading stones under the River Dee
Those not looking quite carefully enough, and seeing the letters "FB" just here might be in for a nasty surprise if they hoped to cross the River Dee dryshod. The footbridge is a tiny one over a side stream that joins on the south side, and the river has the benefit of some low, flattish stepping stones that are now under water despite the weather not having been noticeably wet. We had the good fortune to be following the south bank of the river, so were not inconvenienced. The river crossing is a bridleway, so those on horseback would also not find it a particular ordeal. The gate on the far side might cause a bit of grief, though, especially if you happened to be on a mountain bike hoping momentum would carry you across without loss of speed to keep your feet dry.
