The Cross Keys at Cautley
The Cross Keys at Cautley
This is a Temperance hotel, of which I came across a few in this part of Cumbria, presumably influenced by the strong Methodist and Quaker movements. At the time of this photo, it was only open certain times and days of the week due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but according to Tripadvisor, although the hotel still doesn't have a licence to sell alcohol, these days diners are allowed to bring their own.

The building dates from 1732 or earlier, and is grade II listed (list entry 1384097).
