Hillhead of Letterfourie
Hillhead has moved! The first edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map, surveyed in 1868-1871, shows the buildings of Hillhead a little way to the west of the track, but the second edition, surveyed in 1902, shows the house right next to the track, as it is now. Buckie is at the foot of the brae, with the twin towers of St Peter's Church catching the sun. In the distance, at the far side of the Moray Firth, are the hills of Caithness and Sutherland.
