A short stretch of the road is being resurfaced, and not before time NT2470 : Road repairs - of a sort. Paradoxically, this stretch of road has been closed for six months as part of Edinburgh's Covid-19 response - 'Spaces for People' NT2470 : COVID-19 Road Closure. Whether or not it reopens is still a matter of uncertainty - 'Spaces for People' vs 'Spaces for Cars'. The closure has made the road, which was a bit of a 'rat run', more peaceful for the residents, but the traffic that used it has been diverted on to the main Comiston Road [A702], increasing congestion there.
