The pump under its memorial ornamental canopy is dated 1877 and is Grade II Listed. Oval plaque above each arch inscribed: IN COMMEMORATION OF A TESTIMONIAL PRESENTED TO HIM & MRS BAINBRIDGE BY THE EMPLOYEES OF THE LONDON LEAD CO. & OTHER FRIENDS SEPT. 28TH 1877 NY7843 : Memorial pump near Gillgill Bridge, Nenthead (detail). Corner antifixae have obelisk finials; small crocodile to top of each cap internally. Middleton-in-Teesdale has an identical memorial canopy with an ornamental fountain instead of a pump NY9425 : Horse Market, Middleton in Teesdale
