Dovecote, Bruton
Dovecote, Bruton
The dovecote stands on a hill above Bruton. This mysterious building with 200 pigeon holes may have been begun by Bruton Priory before it was dissolved by Henry VIII. The Berkeley family, who bought the Abbey, may have used it as a prospect tower for watching hunting.
