Kirkhaugh Footbridge Destroyed
Kirkhaugh Footbridge Destroyed
Uprooted trees carried down in flood waters in September 2018 destroyed Kirkhaugh footbridge. There's reputed to have been bridge around this location since Roman times. All have eventually fallen victim to floods including the last constructed in 1953. Hikers on Isaac's Tea Trail have faced a long detour
to Slaggyford to reach Ninebanks and the West Allen.
