NZ5233 : Croft on Heugh Town Wall

taken 3 years ago, near to The Headland, Hartlepool, England

Croft on Heugh Town Wall
Croft on Heugh Town Wall
The sea wall at Croft is protected by the Commissioners' Harbour breakwater and is not exposed to the sort of waves that have required a £9.6 million upgrade of the sea defences on the more exposed parts of Headland, though work is underway on the beach access gate. The vessel in the harbour is the Federal Severn, a 190m long bulk carrier built in China in 2012 and sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands, recently arrived from Liverpool.
