NZ2773 : Boundary near Burradon House

taken 4 years ago, near to Burradon, North Tyneside, England

Boundary near Burradon House
Boundary near Burradon House
This tangle of undergrowth hides a tiny watercourse, which at this point is unnamed although further downstream, where it passes beneath the A19 road, it is shown as Sandy's Letch Link although remaining unnamed on the current Ordnance Survey map. The use of the word 'Letch', which means a stream or pool in boggy land, is unusual in these parts. The watercourse also marks, at this point, the boundary between the County of Northumberland and the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside.
