Passenger train arrival at Norchard
Passenger train arrival at Norchard
A passenger train hauled by pannier tank 9681 arrives at Norchard from Lydney. At this time Norchard was the terminus of the Dean Forest Railway LinkExternal link , the extension to Parkend did not open until December 2005. It had last seen regular passenger services in 1929. In fact there never had been a station at Norchard until the DFR established its headquarters there on the site of what was once Norchard Colliery.
