There are Ordnance Survey benchmarks on the near corner NY2548 : Benchmark on St Mary's Church and on the west face NY2548 : Benchmark on west face of St Mary's Church of the church. A bolt and flagstaff on the tower roof were used as components of a triangulation station (see LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ) in 1953: the flagstaff has been relocated in the church grounds.
