Heathcoat Fabrics is a market-leading manufacturer of knitted and woven fabrics. John Heathcoat established a lace factory here in 1816 in a disused mill and this modern works is his legacy and still working in the 21st century over 200 years since the company was founded. The building on the right is now the factory shop but was originally the factory school built in 1843.
