The current mural (2020) replaced an earlier 'Images of old Greenock' mural on the same site on Ann Street between Wellington Street and Dempster Street.

The work is by local artist Jim Strachan, who was inspired by the area’s history and heritage. It features images of shipbuilding, factory and mill workers, local scenery and legends.

The mural is part of a wider arts project in the Broomhill area which is being undertaken by RIG Arts as part of the regeneration of the area by River Clyde Homes.
