Sunrise on Hessle Foreshore
The chalk pebble 'beach' just west of the Country Park Inn, with the Humber Bridge north tower in the background. The object in the foreground is not a piece of modern sculpture, as it might first appear, but a length of substantial plastic pipe.
The pipe is one of the more unusual items among the plentiful flotsam washed up on the shore, although there was a dead sheep nearby, which had no doubt fallen into a river upstream, and whose carcass had subsequently been eviscerated by creatures unknown.
