Plaque, Jackfield and Coalport Memorial Bridge
Plaque, Jackfield and Coalport Memorial Bridge
Memorial plaque on the Jackfield and Coalport Memorial Bridge, a footbridge over the River Severn between Coalport and Jackfield (see SJ6902 : Jackfield and Coalport Memorial Bridge). The original was built in 1922 in memory of the 26 servicemen from Jackfield and Coalport who had lost their lives in the First World War, replacing the previous ferry over the river. The bridge was dismantled and rebuilt in 2000. The plaque also refers to 8 further servicemen lost or missing in the Second World War.
