This small smock mill is the last surviving wooden windpump in the Fens. Probably built about 1912 at Adventurers' Fen for land drainage, the pump was moved to its present site and restored in 1956 by the National Trust. Wicken Fen is a National Nature Reserve, one of Britain's oldest nature reserves, is one of only four wild fens which survive in East Anglia, where almost all the former fens have been replaced by arable cultivation. In the care of the National Trust.
