Abandoned floodplain pasture, Myton, Warwick
I recall seeing a few cattle in this and the neighbouring field in the later 1980s perhaps. Then grazing stopped and never resumed. The two fields are bounded by housing (in Anderson Drive), the River Avon (foreground), a paddock and a park (Myton Fields). One could understand the owner deciding that grazing was too much trouble remote from any farm. Now brambles are on the rampage and giant hogweed comes up every year on the riverbank: a case of rewilding before the word was coined.
