River Croal Downstream from Wilson's Bridge
River Croal Downstream from Wilson's Bridge
The River Croal is a tributary of the River Irwell. It rises at the confluence of Middle Brook and Deane Church Brook and flows eastwards through Bolton, where most of the river is culverted through the town centre; running under Knowsley Street; Market Place and Bridge Street. It meets the Irwell a little further downstream from this photo, after a total course of around ten miles.
