SU6400 : Portsmouth's Tricorn Centre
An inovative building at the time of its construction. The shuttering used when the concrete was laid was very coarse-grained and so the surface was really interesting. There was a move to get the thing listed before it was demolished. I remember it as a very forbidding place back in the sixties, the grand plans for lots of shops and buisinesses didn't take off and it was dark and damp inside the walkways. Still, I have some fond memories it the place. I based a photography project around it when I was doing my Art Foundation Course!
