St Nicholas's Church, Moor Road, Snitterby
Grade II Listed church of 1866 by James Fowler. There is evidence of possible settlements here going back as far as the Bronze age and a church has existed here for many centuries. In 1780 a Church was built at a cost of £219 on the site of an older Church. "wretchedly built" it fell into disrepair. The Church was rebuilt at a cost of £1000 and consecrated by Bishop Jackson of Lincoln on 9 May 1867. The bell tower was added to the west tower in 1893. Later improvements included a £150 redecoration in 1920, a new roof in 1994, new guttering, new windows and re-leading in 1999 and quartz heating in 2001. The 1864 bell by John Warner & Sons was restored in 2002 and renovation and automation of the clock was carried out in 2007. The Organ was built by Mr. T.H. Nicholson of Lincoln.
