Monkseaton Cottage, 58 Front Street, Monkseaton
In his 1893 book, 'Historical Notes on Cullercoats Whitley and Monkseaton', William Weaver Tomlinson wrote that Monkseaton Cottage, "was formerly a byre". It is thought that the byre was built in the 15th century, and subsequently converted into a two-storey dwelling house in the late 19th century.
