This grade II listed building (list entry 1375096) dates from 1840, with later additions. It was originally called Woodsley House but has been renamed at some point after one of its former owners, Peter Fairbairn. According to the listing its architect was "probably" R D Chantrell and it has had various uses including as a family home, vicarage, nursing home, Leeds Clergy School, University hall of residence, conference centre, more recently clinical research centre SE2834 : Fairbairn House, Clarendon Road, Leeds and currently houses the National Centre for Atmospheric Science.
SE2834 : The Grey Stone (or Gray Stone), Burley One of the very few Leeds photos yet to be given centisquare definition, it would be interesting to know where this 'pebble' lies. Obviously well within reach of grffiti addicts.
