This wall-mounted EIIR postbox (box no. PE6 120) is located outside The Blue Bell public house and next to a parish notice board on High Street. During the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in 2020/2021, it was one of more than 35,000 postboxes throughout the United Kingdom which were designated as Priority Postboxes for mailing home test kits to testing laboratories as part of a government programme partnering the Royal Mail and the National Health Service (NHS). Special Sunday collections were also introduced to ensure rapid dispatch.
Priority postboxes

During the Covid 19 Pandemic of 2020, certain postboxes were designated as priority postboxes for collecting and delivering coronavirus tests around the country and supporting the national testing programme.
