Hessle Road
This is the view looking westwards down Hessle Road from MR: TA08152783. This area, up until the early seventies, was a thriving dock community - particularly for fishing. The Cod Wars helped to see the end of that. Hull, at one time, was not only the third largest UK port after London and Liverpool, but reputedly had the biggest fishing docks anywhere in the world. Many of the older buildings in the area have now been demolished and newer ones have replaced them.
